Singapore Visa Requirements for Indian Citizens
Singapore visa for Indian citizens: ₹2,100 fee, authorised agent e-Visa process, 3 to 5 day processing, 96-hour transit rule and SG Arrival Card. Checked 5 Nov 2026.
Indian citizens with ordinary passports need a visa to visit Singapore. Walk-in applications are no longer accepted, and the visa is applied for through Singapore’s e-Visa system by an Authorised Visa Agent. The Consulate-General in Mumbai lists a visa fee of ₹2,100 and a fixed agent service fee of ₹1,300, with processing in three to five working days. Some Indian travellers who are only passing through can use a 96-hour visa-free transit facility. This guide explains how it works and what to prepare.
Do you need a visa?
Yes. The Consulate-General of Singapore in Mumbai states that visa applications are required for Indian citizens holding ordinary passports. Holders of official and diplomatic Indian passports are exempt. Some Indians who hold a valid visa or long-term pass for certain countries can transit without a Singapore visa, as explained below.
How to apply
- Choose an Authorised Visa Agent listed by the Consulate-General. Only these agents can submit applications through the e-Visa system.
- Apply within 30 days before your arrival date, as the Consulate advises.
- Give the agent your documents: a signed Form 14A, a recent passport-sized photograph, a copy of your passport biodata page and the Form V39A Letter of Introduction, which a local contact in Singapore can issue.
- Pay the visa fee and the agent’s service fee, then wait for the approval to be issued electronically.
Documents in Hindi need an English translation.
Fees and processing time
- Visa fee: ₹2,100 per application, non-refundable and paid upfront.
- Agent service fee: a fixed ₹1,300. The Consulate says there is no extra charge for urgent applications.
- Processing: three to five working days, excluding the day of submission, weekends and holidays. Some cases take longer.
The Consulate does not set a fixed validity for every visa. Each application is assessed individually, and your length of stay is the one stamped on your visit pass when you arrive.
96-hour visa-free transit
Indian nationals in air transit to or from a third country may be eligible for the Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF). The main conditions are:
- You enter by any mode of transport but must leave only by air or sea, with a valid onward ticket departing Singapore within 96 hours.
- You hold a valid visa or long-term pass, valid for at least one month from the date you enter Singapore, issued by Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States.
- Extensions of stay are not allowed under this facility.
Indian travellers who have no valid Singapore visa and do not meet these conditions will not be allowed to enter.
SG Arrival Card
All travellers, including those with a visa, must submit the SG Arrival Card online through the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) before arrival. It is free of charge. Use only the official ICA website or app, because lookalike sites exist.
Common reasons for refusal
- Incomplete forms or missing supporting documents.
- A Letter of Introduction that does not match the application details.
- Unclear purpose of visit or accommodation.
- A previous immigration violation that was not declared.
