RX India hosts travel & tourism leaders in Bengaluru ahead of inaugural edition of WTM Spotlight India

RX India convened senior leaders from across the travel and tourism industry for an exclusive event in Bengaluru, highlighting the scale of opportunity in India’s rapidly expanding outbound travel markets.
The gathering marked an important milestone ahead of the inaugural WTM Spotlight India, taking place from 2 to 4 March 2027 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi by providing a platform for industry leaders and influencers to exchange perspectives, emerging opportunities and the forces shaping the future of travel.

The evening welcomed senior representatives from national and state tourism boards, airlines, hotels and destination management companies (DMCs), alongside travel designers and leading travel trade associations, including the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Skål International India (SKÅL), and the Enterprising Travel Agents Association (ETAA).

The Bengaluru event offered a glimpse of the proposition behind WTM Spotlight India: a focused, high-level B2B marketplace designed to connect global travel suppliers with India’s increasingly influential outbound travel market. Building on more than 46 years of WTM heritage, the platform combines global expertise with local market opportunity, with a clear focus on purposeful and commercially relevant connections.

“India is one of the most exciting growth stories in global travel and tourism, and the energy in the room tonight confirms it. WTM Spotlight India is about bringing the right people together and creating the conditions for conversations to turn into meaningful business. The strong participation we have seen in Bengaluru reflects the appetite and ambition of India’s travel industry, and as we move towards our inaugural edition in March 2027, we are excited to match that energy with the global travel community”, said Umang Gupta, Country Head, RX India.

Set to launch in March 2027, WTM Spotlight India will feature a curated buyer model, targeted market focus and data-led insights, designed to facilitate high-value meetings, relevant partnerships and measurable business outcomes.

The inaugural edition at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, will bring together international destinations, travel brands, airlines, technology providers and leading travel buyers from across India, creating a focussed environment for business, collaboration and growth.
