Italian airport suspends flights due to volcanic activity

Sicily’s Catania airport temporarily suspended arrivals and departures on Monday after volcanic activity from Mount Etna sent ash into the sky. The airport, which handles around 12 million passengers annually, has faced repeated disruption from the volcano, including a week-long closure in August.
