The Arunachal Pradesh chapter of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) has called for stronger collaboration between the state and India’s national tourism industry to accelerate tourism growth and improve its position in domestic and international markets.
Speaking at the 41st IATO Annual Convention in Visakhapatnam, chapter in-charge Bengia Mrinal highlighted the need to expand market access, improve connectivity and develop high-quality tourism products to attract more visitors to the state.
The Arunachal delegation showcased the destination’s natural landscapes, indigenous culture, wildlife and birding opportunities, while highlighting its potential in adventure, tribal and experiential tourism.
The convention also enabled the state team to engage with tour operators, hoteliers, transport companies, technology providers and tourism departments from across India. These interactions are expected to create opportunities for destination marketing, industry partnerships and increased tourist movement to Arunachal Pradesh.
Held under the theme “India: The World’s Next Tourism Opportunity”, the four-day convention brought together around 1,000 delegates from across the travel and tourism ecosystem. The event featured business sessions, destination presentations, networking opportunities and the Indian Tourism Fair, alongside discussions involving policymakers and government representatives.
For Arunachal Pradesh, participation provided an opportunity to strengthen ties with the national travel trade and increase visibility for its nature, adventure, cultural, wildlife and experiential tourism offerings. The state is increasingly being positioned as an emerging tourism frontier, with greater industry collaboration seen as key to unlocking its potential.
