Goa’s new Porvorim bridge promises faster travel, stronger tourism and major economic benefits for residents and businesses

The inauguration of the NH66 Goa–Porvorim bridge marks a significant infrastructure milestone for the state, promising quicker journeys, smoother logistics and stronger tourism growth. Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the 5.15-kilometre flyover, including a 4.19-kilometre elevated corridor, would ease congestion and reduce travel time between Mapusa and Panjim from 40 minutes to around 10. Expected to carry 75,000 vehicles daily, the bridge is also designed to support future growth linked to Mopa airport and the coastal road, while encouraging visitors to explore Goa beyond its beaches.
